Receptionist

Position: Receptionist – Weekend
Facility: Sun Harbor
Location: Port Charlotte, FL
Schedule: Part-Time | Saturday & Sunday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Pay Rate: $15 -$17 per hour

Sun Harbor is seeking a friendly, organized, and professional Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for visitors, residents, and staff. This weekend role is essential in creating a welcoming environment while ensuring smooth front desk operations.

• Answer incoming calls, determine the nature of each call, and direct to the appropriate individual or department

• Take and relay messages or transfer calls to voicemail when necessary

• Provide general information about the facility, including directions and services

• Operate telephone and paging systems efficiently

• Assist residents without personal phones by coordinating calls through nursing units

• Respond to internal requests and locate staff via paging system

• Greet visitors and guide them to the appropriate office or resident room

• Offer assistance and refreshments to guests waiting for administrative staff, as appropriate

• Ensure all visitors follow facility policies and procedures

• Monitor front entrance for resident safety, including elopement risk

• Oversee visitor sign-in and access control procedures

• High school diploma or GED required

• Strong communication skills and professional telephone etiquette

• Ability to operate a multi-line phone system preferred

• Proficient in basic computer systems and office equipment

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

• Strong judgment and ability to make independent decisions when needed

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures
