Shower Aide

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and attentive Shower Aide to join our dedicated care team. Responsibilities

• Assist residents with bathing, showering, grooming, and personal hygiene activities while respecting their privacy and dignity
• Monitor residents' physical condition during care, observing for any changes or signs of discomfort
• Follow care plans accurately, including assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as toileting and dressing
• Maintain a clean and safe bathing environment by adhering to infection control protocols and cleaning procedures
• Document care provided, including resident responses and any concerns observed during the shift
• Support residents' mobility needs using equipment like Hoyer lifts or assistive devices when necessary
• Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and families to ensure coordinated care

Skills

• Experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments preferred
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring
• Familiarity with infection control practices and cleaning procedures
• Ability to assist with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, and grooming with compassion and patience
• Basic understanding of medication administration and care plans is a plus
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's, or autism spectrum disorders
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for resident transfers or mobility assistance
• CPR and First Aid certification are highly desirable to ensure safety in emergency situations
• Experience working within HIPAA guidelines to maintain resident confidentiality
