The Host Person at Sun City Lincoln Hills Community Association’s Meridian Restaurant serves as the first point of contact for members and guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring an exceptional dining experience. This role is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations and waitlists, coordinating guest flow, answering heavy influx of phone calls, and communicating effectively with servers and management. The position also supports front of house cleanliness, assists with service as needed, and handles to go orders and meal deliveries for community residents, including packaging, payment processing, and timely delivery. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential as well as the ability to use computers for reservations. Daily opening, running, and closing side work is required, along with other duties assigned by the supervisor.
This position requires the ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and to perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting up to 35 lbs., and moving throughout indoor and outdoor areas with varying temperatures. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay focused and cheerful in a fast paced, sometimes stressful environment are essential. The role demands adaptability, alertness to safety and environmental conditions, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions while maintaining a high standard of service and professionalism.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months’ experience as Host Person/Cashier, at least one year is preferred
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Food handler’s card preferred
- CPR/AED/First Aid certificate desirable
