Sun City Hilton Head Community Association – a multi award-winning large scale Del Webb Active Adult Community in beautiful Hilton Head, South Carolina – seeks a Lifestyle Banquet/Set Up Technician to support the community’s events and activities. This role is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down banquet spaces, ensuring exceptional service and presentation that enhance the Sun City Hilton Head Community Association, Inc. (SCHHCA) lifestyle experience for our 15,000 residents.

Our community offers a complete range of amenities including but not limited to; 3 spectacular golf courses, multiple pools, state of the art fitness centers and programs, organizations, clubs, a performing arts theater, dining, and a variety of sports complexes to name a few.  Sun City Hilton Head features hosted privacy gates, private streets, multiple amenity centers, lakes, managed neighborhoods and more.

Position Summary:

To complete set up and break down for room reservations in all facilities according to the Reservation Permit and any other diagrams as scheduled through Lifestyles Services.  Major responsibilities are to ensure that all support and service is conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of Sun City Hilton Head Community Association.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs set up and break down according to instructions/diagram and by time assigned.
  • Transports, sets-up, and breaks down equipment such as tables, tablecloths, chairs, staging, etc.
  • Provides exemplary customer service to all guests.
  • Inspects entire room(s) for cleanliness before and after set-up.
  • Alerts managers of any necessary repairs.
  • Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
  • Monitors and provides support to specific events/meetings.
  • May provide limited AV and lighting guidance.
  • Performs building and vehicle assignment responsibilities as set forth by the Setup Technicians Manual.
  • Maintains equipment in a clean, orderly condition ensuring all equipment is clean and polished at all times.
  • May drive company vehicles to and from assignments.
  • Follows all policies and procedures.
  • Wears assigned uniforms unless authorized otherwise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated customer service skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to interact with all types of individuals.
  • Desire to take ownership and personal responsibility for assignments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to speak English in a clear and understandable voice.
  • Ability to utilize a computer.
  • Flexibility and willingness to handle a variety of tasks.
  • Self-motivated; demonstrated interest in taking initiative, anticipating needs, carrying projects through completion with minimal direction, and working with a high degree of urgency.
  • Ability to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances. For safety reasons, employee must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Capable of working extended hours, to include evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing, with corrective lenses if needed.
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop down, kneel, push, shovel items, lift, carry, and move objects that can weigh up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb several flights of stairs if necessary.
  • Ability to work indoors in a controlled climate with proper lighting and in an outdoors setting with variable climate and lighting.
  • Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.
  • Must be deemed insurable to drive company vehicles and possess a valid US driver’s license.
