Position Summary:
The Financial Controller will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning for a small to mid-size privately held growing business. This role is critical for maintaining fiscal health, optimizing processes, and supporting executive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Management & Reporting
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Maintain accurate general ledger and oversee all accounting functions.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Compliance & Controls
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Coordinate with insurance brokers on annual renewals and new coverages.
• Strategic Support
• Provide financial analysis to support business decisions and growth initiatives.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
• Assist in evaluating financing options and capital investments.
• Team Leadership
• Manage and mentor accounting staff.
• Oversee accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Odoo) and Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
