Day Treatment Qualified Professional – Cabarrus County (Concord, NC)
Turning Point Family Services is seeking a Qualified Professional for our Cabarrus County Day Treatment programs located in Concord, operating inside Cabarrus County schools. We have a QP opening at our Middle School Day Treatment program. We are looking for applicants who enjoy working with children with intense behavioral needs who cannot be in a normal classroom. Candidates should be team-oriented, enjoy challenges, and be committed to making a difference. This is a full-time salary position that follows the school schedule, Monday–Friday (8:30am–4:30pm). CPI certification will be required. Turning Point offers full benefits and generous paid time off.
Position Summary
Provide therapeutic behavior management and skill-building services to clients in the Day Treatment program. Focus on achieving developmentally appropriate goals and reintegrating the individual back into school. Plan and implement therapeutic elements of the program, including interventions and activities to support symptom stability, coping skills, social skills, recovery, and functioning in inclusive settings. Collaborate with school personnel, program staff, and other professionals to implement treatment plans. Maintain confidentiality and assist the Program Manager as required.
Responsibilities
- Be present in the school with clients during school hours
- Provide crisis intervention and treatment to clients in school settings to foster positive behavior
- Educate family members regarding client progress, mental health issues, and community services
- Actively participate in developing Person-Centered Plans with school personnel, social services, clients, and families
- Complete and maintain up-to-date client records and documentation according to TPFS standards
- Follow conduct policies and daily operating procedures of the assigned school
- Manage behaviors and maintain discipline in accordance with program procedures
- Provide NCI-compliant restraint as a last resort if client is a danger to self or others after least restrictive interventions have been exhausted
- Other duties as assigned
