Maintenance Technician – Central Coated Products

Third Shift Position available!

The Maintenance Technician at Central Coated Products plays a critical role in keeping our production lines running safely, efficiently, and at peak performance. This position focuses heavily on hands-on machine repair, troubleshooting, and proactive maintenance of the equipment used in our coating, printing, and converting operations. The Maintenance Technician ensures that machinery is ready to run, downtime is minimized, and production throughput is maximized.


Key Responsibilities

Machine Repair & Preventive Maintenance

  • Perform hands-on repairs on production machinery, mechanical systems, and facility equipment.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and drive systems.
  • Execute preventive maintenance (PM) activities to ensure stable machine performance and extend equipment life.
  • Evaluate equipment conditions and determine immediate vs. long-term repair needs, including parts sourcing and planning.
  • Make machine adjustments and calibrations to improve performance, reduce scrap, and ensure consistent product quality.

Production Support & Collaboration

  • Prioritize and complete repairs based on production requirements, machine criticality, and safety considerations.
  • Work closely with production supervisors, process technicians, and maintenance team members across all shifts.
  • Provide clear communication on machine issues, repair status, and recommendations to improve reliability.
  • Maintain 5S standards in maintenance areas and ensure tools, parts, and equipment are organized and ready for use.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Complete work orders, PM checklists, repair logs, and equipment notes accurately and on time.
  • Communicate equipment needs, parts issues, and repair recommendations to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Support documentation efforts for continuous improvement, downtime reduction, and machine performance tracking.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout, and CCP’s GMP guidelines.
  • Report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately and participate in safety investigations when needed.
  • Attend and participate in safety training such as Hazardous Energy Control, Fall Protection, Forklift Certification, and Hazard Communication.

Position Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or equipment maintenance (preferred in high-speed manufacturing).
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the role safely and effectively.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform regular standing, bending, and tool use.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the phone.
  • Must comply with all food safety, sanitation, and GMP guidelines.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing and maintenance areas with exposure to running machinery, electrical systems, and moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and manual tool use.
  • Occasional exposure to loud noise, heat, and industrial environments.
