- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of cheerleading practices, routines, and events.
- Work closely with the Head Coach to develop and implement practice schedules and conditioning programs.
- Teach cheerleading skills, stunts, jumps, tumbling, and choreography.
- Provide individualized instruction and feedback to athletes to help improve their technique and performance.
- Assist with the organization and participation in competitions, pep rallies, and other school/community events.
- Promote a positive and supportive team culture by fostering teamwork, discipline, and respect among athletes.
- Ensure that athletes adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during practices and performances.
- Support the recruitment of new athletes and help foster relationships with students interested in joining the cheerleading program.
- Assist with the management of team equipment, uniforms, and other resources.
- Attend and assist with game-day cheerleading activities, including home and away events.
- Maintain effective communication with the Head Coach, athletes, and parents/guardians.
- Collaborate with the athletic department and other coaches to ensure the cheerleading program aligns with the school’s overall mission and values.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college-level cheerleading experience preferred.
- Previous cheerleading coaching experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of cheerleading techniques, stunting, and tumbling.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with athletes of various skill levels.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and travel for competitions/events as required.
- Ability to motivate and inspire athletes to achieve their highest potential.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including stunting, spotting, and demonstrating cheerleading techniques.
- Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods during practices and events.
