Behavioral Health Therapist – Co-Responder Estes Park 
  • Salary Range:
    • Bachelor's Level = $24.04 - $33.66 per hour
    • Master's Level Unlicensed = $27.89 - $39.05 per hour
    • Master's Level Licensed = $31.75 - $44.42 per hour
    • All levels based on relevant years of experience
  • Location: Estes Park, Colorado
  • Status: Full time, 40 hours per week
  • Hours: Four 10-hour shifts scheduled between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm, including a minimum of two weekend shifts per month.

Employees working at locations operating 24/7 earn a differential.  Shift differentials are also available for evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Role Overview:

 

In collaboration with the Estes Park Police Department, serves individuals who require 24-hour intensive behavioral health crisis intervention. These services shall be provided to individuals who are in behavioral health crisis and whose needs cannot be accommodated safely in the community or in a less restrictive environment. 


Essential Duties: 

  • Responded alongside law enforcement and first responders to behavioral health crises in community settings, providing on-scene assessment, crisis intervention, de-escalation, safety planning, and disposition recommendations.
  • Conducted behavioral health screenings, risk assessments, and brief therapeutic interventions to stabilize individuals experiencing mental health and substance use crises.
  • Coordinated care with emergency departments, schools, crisis services, and community partners to facilitate referrals, continuity of care, and access to appropriate community resources.
  • Provided case management, advocacy, and resource navigation to support recovery, reduce hospitalization, and promote the least restrictive level of care.
  • Maintained accurate clinical documentation, treatment records, and timely reporting while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver trauma-informed, person-centered care.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Human Services field from an accredited College or University required
  • More than two years of experience in the mental health field and program application required 


Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current Colorado professional license in appropriate discipline (LCSW, LPC, LAC, or LMFT) preferred 
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire required; must maintain a clean driving record. This role requires occasional travel to client homes and community partner sites. 
  • CPR and First Aid certifications may be required for certain locations 
  • Completion of Crisis Professional Curriculum within 6 months of hire 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in the Human Services field from an accredited College or University preferred 
  • Experience in coordinating mental health intervention plans and services with other agencies preferred 
  • Bilingual/bi-cultural preferred
