Full Time Medical Assistant - The Woodlands, TX

Our medical assistants work closely with the physician or the supervising RN to provide IV & Injection therapy to patients with autoimmune diseases in an in-office setting. The Medical Assistant will assist in the documentation of activities including daily/monthly reports and patient record processing.

This position is daytime hours, Monday-Thursday. 

Duties & Responsibilities

Patient Care

• Administers Allergy Injections

• Take vital signs and record findings in AIMS

• Assists in controlling patient flow in conjunction with site clinician, i.e. greeting and room patients

• Cleans injection chairs between patients and at the end of the day

Administrative Duties

• Prep charts for scheduled injections

• Obtains all necessary patient records as required by treatment protocol, which may include clinic EMR or outside resources

• Appropriately communicates with physicians, staff, patients and Altus colleagues through various methods (i.e. phone, EMR, chat, email) 

• Works the unscheduled patient report for the assigned site and attends weekly collaboration meeting to ensure all patients are scheduled timely

• Assists with scheduling appointments for patients

• Assist with ordering of medical supplies

• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

·         High School Diploma or GED required

·         One year of experience in a medical office setting (front and back office) required

·         Graduated from a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited school with certificate of completion from Medical Assistant, Medical Technology Program

·         Certification through AMMA is preferred but not required

·         BLS certified

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills
