We have an exciting opportunity for a Engineer - Integrity. This role may be hybrid-based in one of our offices in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri or Maine.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Engineer - Integrity is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with natural gas transmission and distribution pipeline assets. This role supports compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, including 49 CFR 192 Subpart O (TIMP) and Subpart P (DIMP)
The Engineer - Integrity plays a key role in integrity assessment planning, regulatory compliance, and capital prioritization; and will develop, maintain, and apply pipeline risk models; analyze asset data; and provide technical recommendations to support engineering processes.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Risk Modeling & Analysis
- Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining probabilistic and quantitative pipeline risk models using structured logic, threat identification, and weighting factors.
- Analyze assets, inspection, and operational data to identify integrity threats and support risk ranking and prioritization.
- Support capital planning by aligning risk reduction opportunities with integrity projects and system upgrades.
Integrity Management & Assessments
- Identify and evaluate integrity threats and recommend appropriate assessments, including in‑line inspection (ILI), pressure testing, and direct assessment.
- Support MAOP reconfirmation activities, including material verification, population sampling, remediation planning, and documentation.
- Implement procedures for material verification and MAOP reconfirmation, including population sampling and remediation planning.
Regulatory Compliance & Audits
- Review and validate work order documentation to ensure traceable, verifiable, and complete (TVC) record requirements are met.
- Participate in internal audits, peer reviews, and regulatory inspections related to integrity management and risk assessment.
- Ensure compliance with PHMSA, API, ASME, AMPP, and other regulatory standards.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Corrosion, and System Planning teams to implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Prepare technical reports, risk summaries, and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulatory audiences.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Civil, Materials, or related Engineering discipline.
- 2 years of experience in pipeline integrity, risk assessment, or related engineering roles.
- Working knowledge of pipeline integrity management regulations, including 49 CFR 192, ASME B31.8S, and API RP 1173.
- Familiarity with pipeline inspection technologies and non‑destructive examination (NDE) methods.
- Experience using GIS, hydraulic modeling tools, and risk analysis software.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (advanced Excel, SQL, Python, or similar).
- Experience with corrosion prevention practices and cathodic protection systems.
- Prior involvement in MAOP reconfirmation programs, integrity management audits, or PHMSA inspections.
- Experience using JANA risk modeling software or similar pipeline risk assessment platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Business partner mentality with ability to educate basic Transmission Integrity concepts to stakeholders.
- Ability to conduct and interpret quantitative/qualitative analysis with the proven ability to communicate complex engineering concepts and data in an understandable manner to all levels of management and staff.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
- Experience with writing and editing compliance-based plans preferred.
