About the Role
The Product & System Analyst serves as a subject-matter expert for the firm’s key investment strategies, producing analytics such as performance metrics, holdings-based analysis, and peer comparisons. This role is also the primary owner of several core systems, including Morningstar Direct, eVestment, Bloomberg PORT, and FactSet Analytics.
We are expanding our team by adding a motivated professional with a strong work ethic, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to support and enhance our product analytics function. Our current four-person team has deep experience, so we are open to candidates with a broad range of experience levels (2–10 years).
The ideal candidate brings a blend of investment domain knowledge, technical proficiency with investment systems and data tools, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment balancing routine deliverables with evolving business needs.
Core Responsibilities
- Produce and maintain scheduled and ad hoc reports related to portfolio and benchmark holdings, attribution, manager performance, peer rankings, and product characteristics. Support client and prospect requests with detailed product analysis.
- Drive automation and data integrity initiatives by standardizing processes and leveraging tools such as FactSet PA, FactSet SPAR, Bloomberg, eVestment, and Morningstar Direct. Provide technical support in evaluating and developing systems and procedures that meet business requirements.
- Partner with Marketing on Seismic (the firm’s content management system), including data mapping, creation of new data sources, query development, and process optimization.
- Lead projects and initiatives related to product data and industry trends. Analyze current processes, implement improvements, and rebuild workflows where needed to enhance efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; finance, accounting, or related field preferred. CIPM, CFA, or other industry designations are a plus.
- 2 years of performance measurement or analytical experience within financial services.
- Strong technical understanding of markets, securities (fixed income experience preferred), portfolio construction, investment systems, performance, composites, and product analytics.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, macros).
- Experience with investment systems, data providers, and analytics platforms. Tools used include Seismic, Advent APX, Archer, Orion, Charles River, FactSet, Bloomberg, CAPS, Snowflake, and others.
