We're seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (either Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) to join our orthopedic team. In this role, you'll provide high-quality, patient-centered care across the lifespan, collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to promote optimal health outcomes.
Essential Job Functions
This position works in varied environments including medical office, clinical rehabilitation area, acute care facilities and outdoor areas, as well as potential for off premise work and travel. Potential to be exposed to hazardous substances, blood and bodily fluids. Constant interaction with co-workers, patients, vendors and general public, which may involve individuals who are angry, upset or ill.
Physical Requirements
This position is primarily an action position requiring walking, bending, stooping, crawling, squatting and lifting up to 75 pounds. At times must lift up to 100 pounds. Potential for long periods of sitting or standing. Must have visual acuity and manual dexterity to interface with the computer and other facility operating systems. Must have auditory acuity to effectively interact with patients and public.

In this role, you'll provide high-quality, patient-centered care across the lifespan, collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to promote optimal health outcomes.
Essential Job Functions
- Conduct comprehensive orthopedic assessments, including histories, physical exams, and evaluation of musculoskeletal conditions.
- Interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and laboratory studies to support accurate clinical decision-making.
- Develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans in collaboration with supervising orthopedic surgeons.
- Perform in-office procedures as permitted by scope of practice (e.g., joint injections, casting, splinting, wound care, suture removal).
- Assist orthopedic surgeons in the operating room, including pre-operative preparation, first assist duties, and post-operative care coordination.
- Manage post-operative and follow-up appointments, monitoring patient progress and adjusting care plans as needed.
- Provide patient education on conditions, treatment options, post-operative expectations, rehabilitation, and injury prevention.
- Document all patient encounters, interventions, and care plans accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to support integrated, high-quality orthopedic care.
- Ensure adherence to all clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and standards of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes, safety, and clinic efficiency.
- Maintain current knowledge of advancements in orthopedic medicine and participate in continuing education activities.
- Current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in Kansas, or eligibility for licensure.
- Graduation from a nationally accredited program.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- Strong commitment to patient advocacy, quality healthcare, and effective communication.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- Previous medical office and surgical first assist experience
- Clinical computer application experience and/ or training
