Key Responsibilities
- Oversees daily operations of the Operating Room, Surgical Technicians, and Sterile Processing departments to ensure safe and efficient surgical services.
- Supervises, evaluates, and supports staff performance, including RNs, Surgical Technicians, and Sterile Processing employees.
- Develops staffing plans and schedules to meet patient care needs and optimize efficiency.
- Collaborates with physicians, anesthesia providers, and other clinical leaders to coordinate patient flow and resolve operational challenges.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Oversees staff education, competency validation, and professional development.
- Leads quality and safety initiatives within Surgical Services, including performance improvement projects, infection prevention measures, and supply chain optimization.
- Maintains oversight of sterile processing operations to ensure compliance with sterilization protocols and instrument tracking systems.
- Assists in developing and managing departmental budgets, monitoring resource utilization, and identifying opportunities for cost-effective care.
- Promotes a positive and collaborative work environment consistent with the organization’s mission, values, and culture.
Qualifications:
- RN required, BSN preferred.
- Current RN (Registered Nurse) licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of perioperative nursing experience required.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and standards of care.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
