Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Direct Support Professional based in Wheeling, IL. In this role, you will provide hands-on support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a variety of settings. Daily responsibilities include assisting with personal care, facilitating community engagement, fostering skill-building activities, and promoting independence. You will also support individuals in achieving their personal goals and maintaining a safe and positive living environment. Pay rate is $21-$24/hr.
Please note: We are looking for the following shifts, Monday -Friday 3-11, Saturday and Sunday, all shifts (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am) and PRN.
Qualifications
- Experience or knowledge in Human Services and working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities
- Strong Interpersonal Skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Effective verbal and written Communication skills for clear and empathetic interaction
- Capacity to provide guidance and Training to support individuals’ personal growth
- Patience, compassion, and adaptability in working with diverse populations
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in caregiving or human services are a plus
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required
- Ability to pass a background check and complete relevant training programs
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
