Position Summary
Our client is a well-established pharmaceutical organization seeking an experienced portfolio management leader to drive commercialization strategy across a diverse product portfolio. This highly visible role partners with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to guide products from early-stage planning through commercial launch while helping shape long-term portfolio strategy.
This position offers the opportunity to influence key business decisions, collaborate across multiple functional areas, and play a significant role in future product launches within a growing organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead portfolio planning and product launch activities across multiple development programs.
- Develop commercialization strategies and support products throughout the product lifecycle.
- Evaluate new market opportunities using competitive intelligence, market research, and commercial analytics.
- Assess the commercial potential of pipeline assets and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Monitor portfolio performance and identify areas of opportunity and potential business risk.
- Partner with Research & Development, Commercial, Finance, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Legal, and other cross-functional teams to support product planning and execution.
- Develop business cases, forecasts, and strategic analyses to support portfolio decisions.
- Support annual planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range commercial planning activities.
- Contribute to marketing strategy, launch readiness, and commercialization initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, analytics, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure alignment with organizational priorities while managing multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Significant experience within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
- 5-7 years experience in portfolio management, commercial strategy, product planning, launch excellence, or related functions.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Experience utilizing commercial data, market research, and competitive intelligence to support business decisions.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Hybrid office-based position located in Princeton, New Jersey.
Compensation: Annual Salary Range: $175,000 – $225,000. Competitive compensation package including salary, bonus, and comprehensive benefits. (Would also consider Sr Director level candidates). The salary offered will be commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
