Extrusion Line Operator
Location: Summit Skilled Solutions
Pay Range: $16.00 – $23.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-time | Overtime available after tenure
Job Summary:
Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking an experienced Extrusion Line Operator to set up, operate, and maintain extrusion lines using a variety of thermoplastic materials. The ideal candidate will produce plastic cylinders and profiles that meet all specifications, dimensions, and quality standards in accordance with work orders and blueprints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate extrusion lines for thermoplastic materials.
- Install or change extrusion heads, dies, pins, sizing sleeves, screens, and extruder screws as needed.
- Perform start-ups, shutdowns, temperature profile adjustments, resin changeovers, and dryer set-ups.
- Visually inspect extruded parts for defects and check dimensions using vernier calipers, tape measures, and Go/No-Go gauges.
- Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain product specifications.
- Arrange raw material feeding systems and containers; mix raw materials as required.
- Identify and correct flaws in raw materials or equipment.
- Instruct and support lower-graded machine tenders on extrusion line operation.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records (set-ups, SPC sheets, data logs, etc.).
- Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating extrusion lines preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
- Proficiency in using precision measurement tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
