Job Title: Commercial Maintenance Technician
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday (occasional nights and weekends)
Compensation: $26–$32 per hour
Location: Roxborough, PA area
Job Summary
Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking a skilled and dependable Commercial Maintenance Technician to support multiple customer sites within an assigned geographic territory. This role involves traveling between commercial properties using a company vehicle and performing a wide range of maintenance duties to ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.
The ideal candidate will have strong multi-trade experience, a professional customer service mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently across various building systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance in accordance with assigned work orders
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems, equipment, and general facility components
- Execute minor repairs across multiple trades, including:
- Plumbing: Repair leaks, unclog toilets/urinals, replace fixtures, maintain valves and flush systems
- Electrical: Replace switches, outlets, ballasts, fixtures, bulbs, and related components (within applicable licensing limits)
- Carpentry & General Maintenance: Drywall repair, painting, door repairs, and general facility upkeep
- Maintain commercial properties to a clean, safe, and professional standard
Technology & Reporting
- Use mobile devices (tablet/smartphone) to:
- Access, update, and complete work orders
- Document services performed and upload inspection reports/photos
- Submit timesheets, expense reports, and purchasing documentation
Customer Service & Communication
- Maintain professional, face-to-face interactions with customers at all job sites
- Foster positive client relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and support staff
- Respond to service requests in a timely and professional manner
Additional Responsibilities
- Obtain materials and supplies needed to complete assigned tasks
- Provide estimates for larger maintenance or repair projects as needed
- Attend required safety meetings and complete all compliance training
- Perform additional duties as assigned
QualificationsEducation & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Trade certification or technical training preferred
- 2–5 years of general maintenance experience in commercial settings
- Experience in one or more trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, etc.) strongly preferred
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid driver’s license in good standing required
- Relevant trade licenses or certifications preferred
Technical Skills
- Ability to operate mobile devices and work order management systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
- Experience with preventative and emergency maintenance procedures
Safety & Compliance
- Strong understanding of OSHA standards and workplace safety requirements
- Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
Communication Skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, safety policies, and manuals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally with clients and team members
Work Environment
- Daily local travel between multiple commercial properties
- Hands-on work in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Physically active role requiring troubleshooting across various systems and conditions
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
