Position OverviewThe Elementary Spanish Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality Spanish language instruction to students in grades Pre-K through 5th Grade. The candidate will design engaging lessons aligned with best practices in language acquisition, provide differentiated instruction, and foster a love for Hispanic culture and language. This role includes meaningful time for collaboration with colleagues, planning, and professional development.
Primary Responsibilities- Develop and implement dynamic, developmentally-appropriate Spanish curriculum for Pre-K through 5th Grade students
- Foster listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills at each grade level
- Create an engaging, inclusive, and culturally rich learning environment
- Collaborate closely with grade-level and specialist teams to support student learning
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning styles
- Utilize assessment and student progress data to inform instruction
- Integrate creativity, culture, and authentic language experiences into lessons
- Communicate regularly and positively with students, families, and colleagues
- Uphold Summit School’s values and culture, contributing to a positive school climate
- Participate in school events, professional development, and community-building activities
- Bachelor’s Degree required; degree in Spanish, Education, or related field preferred
- Teaching certification or eligibility preferred
- Prior Spanish teaching experience at the Pre-K – 5th Grade level highly valued
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with students and families
- Passion for language instruction, culture, and student growth
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
