Role Description The Principal is a full-time, on-site school leader at Summit Cove Elementary. The leader is responsible for the overall instructional and operational management of the school. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting and communicating a clear vision for teaching and learning, supporting educators in implementing rigorous and inclusive instructional practices, and using data to monitor scholar progress. The Principal leads and develops staff through coaching, feedback, and professional learning, and cultivates a positive, safe, and equitable school culture for students, staff, and families. This role oversees school operations such as scheduling, budgeting input, compliance with district and state policies, and coordination of student services. The Principal also builds strong partnerships with families and community members, represents the school within the district, and participates in district-wide leadership initiatives.

- Proven instructional leadership skills, including experience supporting high-quality teaching, using data to inform decisions, and advancing equitable outcomes for all scholars.
- Strong school culture and community-building skills, including the ability to foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment and to engage families and community partners.
- Organizational and operational management skills, such as planning, problem-solving, scheduling, and overseeing school procedures in alignment with district and state requirements.
- People leadership skills, including staff supervision, coaching, performance feedback, and conflict resolution in a collaborative, growth-oriented manner.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to listen actively, communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders, and work effectively as part of a district leadership team.
- Knowledge of best practices in K–12 education, including culturally responsive practices, social-emotional learning, and support for multilingual learners and scholars with disabilities.
- Relevant administrative certification or eligibility for Colorado principal licensure, and prior school or district leadership experience (such as assistant principal, instructional coach, or similar role).
- Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field preferred; experience in a public school setting and in diverse or multilingual communities is highly beneficial.
