Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the preventative maintenance on all equipment and repairs of production equipment and facility as needed. Completes equipment set up and changeovers for scheduled production runs and oversees sanitation crew.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs and changeovers as needed.
- Performs Maintenance Technician duties including, but not limited to, Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
- Performs general facility maintenance and repairs and oversees sanitation crew.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Required Experience & Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Degree/certification in maintenance, or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a maintenance role
- Excellent electrical troubleshooter skills required
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints
- Experienced in working with PLC based equipment
- Adhere to company safety standards - Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced, time restricted environment
- Possess high professional ethics, dependability, good judgment and ability to take decisive action
- Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work any shifts and weekends as needed
Certificates and Licenses:
- Degree or certification in maintenance field
Work Environment:
This position requires work in both an office setting and a warehouse setting. Work often requires “after hours” communication or extended work hours, including weekend or evening work. Working conditions in the warehouse setting may or may not be environmentally controlled resulting in hot or cold temperatures. Employee will work in an area where there is moving warehouse equipment.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to: stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
