General Description:
The Finishing Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and directing the daily activities and production of swine facilities owned and managed by Summit Agricultural Group.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the oversight and production of 25-30 wean to finishing sites.
- Responsible for the hiring and termination of Independent Contractors.
- Work with integrators, contractors, and staff to ensure proper animal well-being standards are upheld and report any incidents that occur.
- Ensure that animals have feed and water available.
- Ensure that fans, curtains, and heaters are working properly and adjusted, as needed.
- Establish and maintain relationships with integrators, contractors, and caretakers and provide feedback regarding assigned sites.
- Perform site visit reports to provide solutions and feedback to the company and caretaker.
- Conduct regular farm visits, complete site paperwork, and follow up with integrators and caretakers.
- Adhere to bio-security policies and procedures and report any violations.
- Maintain facilities, equipment, and machinery in working condition.
- Responsible for monitoring pig placements, biosecurity, vaccine usage, marketing, etc.
- Communicate and manage pig movements.
- Train and develop caretakers and keep them up to date with new training or changes in the system.
- Manage medication, vaccine, and supply inventories.
- Manage site utilities such as propane and electric usage.
- Maintain a veterinarian/client/patient relationship with the integrators' veterinarians and adhere to their guidelines regarding animal health and improvement.
- Ensure medications and vaccines are administered according to established protocols.
- Responsible for performing and training caretakers in performing animal euthanasia.
- Respond to alarm calls.
- Maintain certification and follow all PQA and TQA Guidelines.
- Assist with ventilation setup for pumping sites, as needed.
- Deliver site supplies at the beginning of each turn and, as needed.
- Build strong relationships with employees of integrators.
- All other duties assigned by Manager.
Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with satisfactory motor vehicle record
- Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter who is detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
- 3 years of swine knowledge and exposure
- 3 years of management experience
Work Environment:
- This role may be performed inside and have exposure to performing tasks in outside weather conditions.
- This role may have exposure to fumes or airborne particles, dust and gases pending seasonality.
Physicality Requirements:
- Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
- The employee must be able to continuously repeat necessary movements such as bending, lifting and different hand movements as needed to complete tasks
- Ability to frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position with the expected days of operation to be Monday-Friday.
- Occasional evening hours and weekend hour work may be required as job duties demand.
