Company: Summit Metals Location:* Salt Lake City, UT Employment Type:*
Full-Time IN Person Retail
Experience Required: 3 years

About Summit Metals
Summit Metals is a precious metals dealer serving stackers, collectors, and investors. We buy, sell, and trade bullion, numismatic coins, and currency, and we back it with real market knowledge and a secure, professional storefront.
The Role
You know the difference between melt value and numismatic value. You can talk premiums, spreads, and spot without reaching for notes. If that describes you and you have retail sales experience to match, we want to talk.
You'll be the face of our Salt Lake City retail operation: educating customers on bullion and rare coins, evaluating collections brought in off the street, and closing sales with buyers who range from first-time stackers to serious collectors.
What You'll Do
- Sell and educate. Guide customers through gold, silver, platinum, and palladium purchases. Explain spot price, premiums, and spread in plain language.
- Evaluate and buy. Authenticate and appraise coins, currency, and collectibles from the public. Your appraisals need to be accurate against current market conditions and grading standards.
- Manage inventory. Keep high-value displays secure, organized, priced, and cataloged.
- Build relationships. Learn each customer's stacking goals and make recommendations that fit. Repeat business is the business.
- Stay sharp. Track spot prices, global metals markets, and numismatic trends so customers get accurate answers.
What You Bring
- Experience: 3 years in retail sales within precious metals, coins, or jewelry.
- Numismatic knowledge: Working command of PCGS/NGC grading standards and the ability to identify rare and historical coins.
- Stacker fluency: You know constitutional silver, fractionals, BU vs. Proof, and why premiums matter. You understand why people stack and can talk about it credibly.
- Math skills: Fast, accurate payout calculations from spot, weight (troy ounces, grams), and purity.
- Integrity: You'll handle significant inventory and cash in a secure environment. Honesty and attention to detail are non-negotiable.
- Communication: You can make market dynamics make sense to a first-time buyer without dumbing it down for a veteran.
Compensation & Growth
Competitive pay, room to grow, and daily hands-on work with historical coins and tangible wealth.
Disclaimer: This role involves discussing market trends and asset preservation. Summit Metals and its employees do not provide financial or legal advice.
