Brentwood Children's Clinic, a division of Summit Medical Group, has an immediate need for an experienced Lactation Consultant to join their team. This is a part-time opportunity.
Responsibilities: (List does not include all duties assigned):
High School Diploma or equivalent required prefer additional vocational or college credits.
Experience
3-5 years of clinical experience in lactation or breastfeeding
Certification/License
Active state RN license. IBCLC (International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant) Certification required.

Responsibilities: (List does not include all duties assigned):
- Assesses patients’ lactation needs by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, and gathering information about the family and baby setting.
- Analyzes and documents physical, psychological, and social factors in developing and individualized plan of care. Communicates the plan of care and all pertinent information to other members of the health care team to provide coordinated patient treatment. Keeps accurate medical records and updates nursing care whenever conditions, needs, or goals of the patient change.
- Provide individual and family lactation support services, including prenatal lactation education, post-natal lactation education, and follow-up phone and email support.
- Assess and document maternal and infant health and breastfeeding goals.
- Identify and refer clients to appropriate community resources.
- Develop and maintain breastfeeding practices.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality both internally and externally.
- Adheres to expectations of the established corporate compliance plan.
- Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities. Each employee will contribute to the continual evaluation site performance as well as the implementation and measurement of improvement activities that increase the quality of care provided to patients.
