Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager. The Senior Project manager will provide overall administrative, technical, financial, and resource management of the project from initial bid preparation through completion, under the guidance of the project management organization. Responsible for delivering the project safely, in accordance with quality standards, on time, and within budget.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities:
- Work with safety personnel to ensure that the project is being built in accordance with OSHA and company regulations and that proper training is occurring.
- Oversee a team of 10-20 project management professionals, providing daily guidance, direction, and support.
- Manage a portfolio of multiple line construction projects in Northern California.
- Responsible for the project controls and contract management. Works closely with the project management organization to ensure consistency and adherence to organizational best practices.
- Works closely with the construction management to ensure successful delivery of the project.
- Maintain a professional appearance with the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines and to provide positive leadership to motivate personnel.
- Define problems, collect information, and establish facts to provide an appropriate resolution.
- Lead pre-construction efforts in bid preparation, contract and exhibit review, and execution planning.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Setup, organize, update, and maintain electronic and printed files of working documents in accordance with outlined document control practices.
- Coordinate, schedule, and manage subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers.
- Monitor/control construction through communication with superintendent to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget.
- Work with legal to oversee contracts to protect company’s interest while maintaining good relationships.
- Review cost reports and evaluate methods to reduce cost while maintaining productivity.
- Develop and manage budget projection for labor, material, equipment, and subcontractors procured on the project. Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly projections and progress for all construction activities.
- Responsible for providing project cost forecasting, monthly cost to complete development, and accuracy of reporting.
- Responsible for the invoicing or payment application process for completed scope.
- Responsible for monitoring the quality of weekly labor and equipment hours, material, and subcontractor reporting.
- Responsible for productivity, efficient use of materials/equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
- Lead daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, as required, including the formulation of the agenda and minutes.
- Develop, submit, track, and maintain all project submittals and requests for information.
- Develop, negotiate, submit, track, and maintain client and/or subcontractor change orders.
- Develop scope of work and project schedules in Microsoft Excel, Project, or Primavera.
- Generate daily, weekly, or monthly meeting documents as required.
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.
What You'll Bring
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years construction management, estimating, and/or craft supervision experience in similar construction.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), negotiations, engineering, estimating, schedules, and safety required.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience leading direct reports.
- Knowledge of design, estimating, construction, finance, and management.
- Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
- Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, and activities.
- Accounting (math and record-keeping) includes the ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations as needed to examine construction operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio).
- Effective communication (oral, written, presentation, listening).
- Effective motivational and supervisory skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications, drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.
Education:
- Four-year (4) construction science, construction management, construction engineering, engineering, or similar related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
Compensation:
- $130K - $175K annually
- Salaried, exempt.
Travel:
- Required per the project up to 30%.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
- Must pass a mandatory drug screening.

Compensation Range
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $130,000.00/Yr. - USD $175,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.Equal Opportunity Employer
