Position Overview
Summit Leadership Foundation is seeking a Manager, Event Strategy & Engagement to lead the strategy, planning, and execution of our event portfolio. This role designs high-impact experiences that advance our mission, strengthen relationships, expand community engagement, and support revenue growth.
Position Details
- Type: Full-time, salaried (40 hours/week), exempt (as applicable)
- Schedule: MondayFriday with occasional evenings/weekends
- Reports to: Director of Operations
What You’ll Do
- Build and manage an annual event strategy and calendar aligned with organizational priorities.
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution for Summit-hosted and Summit-supported events.
- Create repeatable systems (playbooks, templates, timelines) to improve consistency and scalability.
- Coordinate logistics: venues, registration, vendors, hospitality, volunteers, and day-of operations.
- Partner with internal teams (Development, Marketing, Programs, Operations) to align goals and deliver great experiences.
- Manage partner/sponsored events through clear standards and a structured request/approval process.
- Support sponsor and stakeholder engagement, including fulfillment and stewardship.
- Manage budgets, contracts, and vendor performance.
- Track results and improve events using KPIs, feedback, and reporting.
- Attendance and Engagement
Increase event attendance, repeat attendance, and partner participation year over year.
Improve on-site and post-event conversion by implementing engagement strategies that drive attendees to register for upcoming events (e.g., limited-time, on-site registration incentives such as same-day discounts).
Events You May Support
Workshops, seminars, conferences, speaker series, panels, lunch and learns, networking events, fundraisers, and partner/sponsored events.
Qualifications
- Alignment with Summit Leadership Foundations mission and values
- 5 years of progressive experience in event planning/strategy or experience management
- Proven ability to manage multiple events and timelines simultaneously
- Experience with budgets, vendors, and contracts
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- CRM/event management platform experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Work Requirements
- Occasional evening/weekend work based on event schedules
- Local travel as needed
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and be on your feet during events
