About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate and dependable caregiver to support a client in their home. This individual uses a wheelchair and requires assistance with personal care and daily living activities. The caregiver must be confident with safe transfers and committed to preserving the client’s dignity and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wheelchair transfers (with gait belt or lift, if applicable)
- Toileting assistance and hygiene support
- Meal preparation and cooking (nutritious, client-friendly meals)
- Standby assist with transfers or repositioning
- Light housekeeping (laundry, tidying kitchen/bathroom, changing linens)
- Companionship and monitoring for safety
- Medication reminders (no administering)
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience with physical transfers and mobility support
- Comfortable with personal care and toileting
- Strong cooking skills and attention to dietary needs/preferences
- Kind, reliable, and communicative
- Non-smoker preferred
- Must pass background check
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of caregiving experience (private, agency, or facility)
- Valid driver's license (transportation is part of role)
- CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to complete)
- Two references from past clients or supervisors
Bonus Qualifications:
- CNA, HCA, or similar certification
- Experience with mobility aids and transfer equipment
- Familiarity with age-related conditions or disability care
