$400/month Summit County housing stipend available for full time residents of Summit, Park, Eagle, Grand, Clear Creek, Lake, and Chaffee Counties.  Must work at least 80% physically on-site at a Common Spirit Mountain Region facility in Summit County and full time or part time status (PRN ineligible).  More details available upon offer.

As an RN Clinical Coordinator you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit. You will not serve as a supervisor or manager; instead serve as a clinical nurse and resource to the staff, authorize work procedures and assign duties, shift charge, as well as: 

  • Demonstrating strong clinical judgment and ensuring high-quality care delivery to each patient.
  • Acting as a vital link between physicians and the patient care team to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Maintaining communication and promote cooperation with unit staff and other departments.
  • Provides input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring and performance management of associates. 
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Act as a professional role model for all staff by demonstrating ethical/legal/professional nursing.
  • Promotes the optimal health, well-being, and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act. 
  • Actively serves on unit as a registered nurse and may take patient assignments based on unit and patient needs and acuity.
  • Being personally, accountable for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

**Previous OR Experience Required**

**Previous Leadership/ Charge experience highly preferred**

 

Day to Day Duties:

  • Developing strong working relations with surgeons, staff, and companies’ representatives. Checking the operative schedule weeks in advance making sure all supplies and equipment are available.
  •  Occasional running the front desk.
  • Ensuring ORs are staffed and getting relieved on time.
  • Scheduling, Rounding on staff and rooms. Ensuring ORs are cleaned and ready for a procedure.
  • Putting instruments and equipment away. 
  • Oversight of Operating Room in collaboration with OR leadership and physicians.
  • Ensuring ORs are prepared for procedure

Secondary roles:

  • Working in OR as a staff RN.
  • Helping staff get breaks and lunch.
  • This position will also be eligible for the Clinical Ladder.

 

3 OR Suites

Approx. 120-200 cases per month

 

Schedule- 40hrs/ week- Variable shifts per surgical volume and current unit needs. TBD during interview with OR Manager. 

 

Call required -Every night from 9pm to 7am is covered by call with an average call requirement of 7 nights per schedule period.  

30 min callback radius required 


Job Requirements

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

Education

  • Associates Degree in Nursing (Nursing Diploma or by endorsement) required
  • BSN, preferred

Licensure

  • RN License to practice in state of employment as applicable, required
  • Nursing Specialty Certification, preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of direct clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.

Physical Requirements

  • Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

The Surgery department at St. Anthony Summit Hospital has three OR suites, and averages 100 to 200 surgical cases per month, depending on the season. We specialize in orthopedic trauma, general trauma, sports medicine, OB/GYN surgery, urology and ENT. Our surgical volume is 50% ortho, 20% general, 20% OB/GYN, and 10% other services. We are one of the busiest Level III trauma centers in the state. We pride ourselves on a strong positive culture of acceptance, support and strive for personal growth.
