Speech Therapist/Speech Language Pathologist
- PRN Hours: As needed basis
- Pay: $60 - $120/Per Visit (Paid Per Visit, Based on Experience & Visit Type)
- Coverage Location: East Cincinnati (Mt. Orab, Georgetown, Bethel, Williamsburg, OH)
- Travel: Required Milage Reimbursement
- Work Setting: On-the Road for Patient Visits & Training at the Local Office or Remotely
- The Speech Therapist/Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for implementation of standards of care for speech-language pathology services and for adherence to all conditions in the Service Agreement.
- Conduct appropriate evaluations, assess home environment (as appropriate), identify equipment needs relative to speech/language function.
- Identify functional speech defects and establish a plan of care to improve patient function.
- Administer speech therapy program utilizing specialized therapeutic techniques and/or equipment.
- Recommend communication devices/aids as indicated.
- Work with the referring physician and other organization personnel to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care contributes to the total plan of care.
- As appropriate, participate in case conferences, in-services and other meetings required to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Prepare and submit notes per organization policy.
- Maintain clinical competency in speech-language pathology practice and theory.
- Identify patient and family/caregiver needs for other services and refer as appropriate.
- Instruct patient, family/caregiver and other Organization health care personnel in the patient's treatment regime as indicated.
- May supervise home health aide in procedures directly related to the speech-language therapy plan of care.
- Performs other duties as required to facilitate the delivery of speech-language pathology services.
Qualifications:
- Possesses a master's or doctoral degree in speech-language pathology (SLP).
- Must meet either of the following requirements: be licensed as a speech-language pathologist by the State in which the individual furnishes such service; or if the State does not license speech-language pathologists: must have successfully completed 350 clock hours of supervised clinical practicum (or is in the process of accumulating such supervised clinical experience); performed not less than 9 months of supervised full-time SLP services after obtaining a master's or doctoral degree in SLP or a related field; and successfully completed an approved national examination in SLP.
- A minimum of one (1) year's clinical experience in Speech-Language Pathology is preferred.
- Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is in good working order and insured in accordance with the organization requirements
- A recent TB test is required.
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.
