T-Line Project Engineering Manager – Transmission Lines (69kV and Above)

Key Responsibilities:
- Actively promote and reinforce the safety culture across all phases of project execution.
- Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and develop competitive, detailed proposals for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services.
- Lead project teams through conceptual design, procurement, and construction support for substation, distribution, and transmission line projects, with a primary focus on 69kV and above.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and scopes for services and EPC work.
- Interface adeptly with clients, external stakeholders, and internal teams, ensuring clarity, alignment, and project success.
- Mentor and train engineers assigned to active projects, providing day-to-day technical oversight, performance feedback, and skill development—especially in PLS-CADD and related tools.
- Develop and deliver internal training content, including guides on conductor/insulator selection, foundation design, and use of engineering software.
- Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME), bridging the experience gap between junior entry-level engineers and seasoned project leads.

Travel Requirement:
- Minimal. Travel up to 25% to project sites as needed.
Reporting Structure:
- Responsible for technical oversight of project-assigned engineers, who will report directly for the duration of the project.
- Mentor, train, and provide performance review feedback for engineers, though ongoing career development and resource planning are managed by discipline resource managers.
- Support construction teams through EPC delivery, providing expert guidance on structural challenges in the field.
- Not responsible for direct reports’ overall development outside active project assignments.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field); 10–12 years of experience in transmission line design and engineering (minimum 8 years required). Professional Engineer (PE) license heavily preferred.
- Transmission Experience: Demonstrated expertise in design and delivery of high-voltage transmission lines (69kV and above, with exposure to 500kV strongly preferred).
- Structural Focus: 90% of role involves structural (civil) engineering—foundations, framing (steel, concrete, wood), and material selection. Experience with steel, wood, laminate, and composite structures; lattice tower experience is a plus.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in PLS-CADD essential; ability to train junior staff on the platform. Experience creating training content for engineering tools and guides.
- Project Leadership: Proven record leading technical execution of EPC projects, especially during the construction phase. Construction support and field services work experience highly valued.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Experience mentoring and training engineers at all levels, especially bridging the gap for those with 5–8 years’ experience who are ready to take on technical leadership responsibilities.
- Client-Facing Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills; able to represent the company and technical team to clients and stakeholders with clarity and professionalism.
- Travel Requirement: Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% to project sites.
- Additional Assets: Experience with substation, distribution, private networks, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) a bonus.

Compensation:
$140-$180k base salary plus company stock after year 1.
