Position Summary
Summit Grace Security is seeking dependable, professional, and alert Security Officers to help protect people, property, and operations at assigned client sites. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong situational awareness, respectful communication, sound judgment, and a commitment to accurate documentation.
This role is best suited for someone who can remain calm under pressure, follow post orders, communicate professionally with residents, visitors, staff, and supervisors, and respond appropriately within the limits of an unarmed security role.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible and professional security presence at assigned posts.
- Conduct purposeful and documented patrols of assigned areas.
- Monitor access points, visitors, common areas, corridors, stairwells, and exterior perimeters.
- Identify and report safety hazards, suspicious activity, unauthorized access, and policy violations.
- Respond to incidents within training, company policy, and legal limitations.
- Use de-escalation techniques, calm communication, and respectful interaction during conflicts.
- Notify supervisors, client leadership, or emergency services when appropriate.
- Complete accurate, timely, factual, and professional Daily Activity Reports and incident reports.
- Maintain confidentiality of client, resident, staff, and operational information.
- Inspect and responsibly use assigned equipment such as radios, flashlights, access tools, tablets, and patrol verification systems.
- Follow all post orders, company policies, lawful supervisor instructions, and client site procedures.
- Support emergency response procedures, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, evacuations, disturbances, and severe weather situations, without exceeding training level.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must meet all applicable state and local licensing requirements for unarmed security officers.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to remain alert, professional, and dependable during assigned shifts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to write clear, factual, chronological reports.
- Ability to stand, walk, patrol, and remain attentive for extended periods.
- Must be able to follow instructions, post orders, and company policies.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and wear the approved uniform properly.
- Must be drug-free and fit for duty while on assignment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior security, customer service, military, law enforcement, healthcare, hospitality, or assisted living experience.
- Experience working in sensitive environments such as assisted living, residential communities, healthcare settings, or client-facing facilities.
- Familiarity with radios, access control systems, CCTV monitoring, incident reporting, or patrol tracking systems.
- CPR, AED, first aid, or emergency response awareness training is a plus.
