JOB SUMMARY/ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT: The Financial Advisor (“FA”) provides guidance and advisory services to Summit’s Wealth Management existing clients. FA’s report directly to the President, Retirement Plans and will be responsible for increasing Summit’s Wealth Management client base. Primary roles include preparing reports, answering client inquiries, and developing strong relationships with existing clients to ensure retention. Strong service skills and knowledge of investment sales are keys to success in this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Interview clients to determine their current income, expenses, insurance coverage, tax status, financial objectives, risk tolerance, or other information needed to develop a financial plan
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships and open lines of communication with external clients.
- Recommend to client’s different strategies in cash management, insurance coverage, investment planning, or other areas to help them achieve their financial goals
- Analyze financial information obtained from clients to determine strategies for meeting clients' financial objectives Prepare data for client and prospect meetings, plan reviews, and Request for Proposals. Review for meetings in conjunction with the Division Leader and vendor partners. Create and/or review spreadsheets, proposals, plan information and presentation data.
- Review clients' accounts and plans regularly to determine whether life changes, economic changes, environmental concerns, or financial performance indicate a need for plan reassessment
- Maintain detailed records relating to client interactions, tasks, and appointments necessary for reporting purposes using Summit Microsoft Dynamics CRM system.
- Prepare or interpret for client information such as investment performance reports, financial document summaries, or income projections
- Recognize areas of weakness, provide suggestions, and update documentation for process improvement.
- Perform general and administrative duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 - 3 years’ experience in the Investments industry with a focus on advising
- Experience using Microsoft Office 365; Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
- Series 7
- Series 66 (63/65)
- Active State Group Life, Accident, and Health Insurance License preferred
The Financial Advisor position is an Employee (W-2) with a Salary (DOE) plus commission.
