What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teachers position at Summit Early Learning?
We are looking for caring individuals who have a passion for helping children learn and grow and make a difference in the lives of children and their families everyday.
$2,500 Sign-On Bonus: $1,500 paid after the first month of employment, with the remainder $1,000 paid at the end of the 12-month provisional.
Qualifications:
Required education: Must have an associates degree in Early Childhood Education or an associates degree in a related field (child development, special education, elementary education or human services) with 30 early childhood education credits. Must have experience working in an early childhood setting.
Preferred education: Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a bachelor's degree in a related field (child development, special education, elementary education or human services) with 30 early childhood education credits; 2 or more years' experience in an ECE program, supervisory experience, ECE certification.
Must have an interest in child development, a flexible personality, the ability to work independently, and excellent verbal and written communication skills, plus enjoy variety in daily work routines. Successful candidates will also have proven leadership abilities, creativity in teaching, team management and supervision, as well as the ability to work as part of a team.
Responsibilities: Ensure the delivery of a quality early childhood education program in compliance with all applicable regulations. With the support of a qualified team and using research-based curriculum, oversee the operation and activities of supervised groups and classroom planning. Ensure developmentally appropriate comprehensive program and classroom plans that meet children's group and individual needs and follow the SUMMIT Early Learning curriculum and philosophy.
Location: Lewistown Children's Center, Lewistown PA
Hours & Salary:
Head Start Teacher, full-time, part year, 200 days/year, 8 hours/day, Monday through Friday.
Preschool Teacher (head start/childcare), full-time, full year, 260 days/year, 8 hours/day, Monday through Friday.
Rate of Pay: based on level of education:
Associate degree in ECE or related field: $17.99/hour
Bachelor's degree in ECE or related field: $19.70/hour
E.O.E.
Pay: $17.99 - $19.70 per hour
