What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Superintendent position at Summit Design Build, LLC?
Summit Design Build is seeking motivated assistant superintendents who desire an exciting and challenging environment to join our growing team.
Our Asst. Superintendents work closely with the Lead Superintendent and are responsible to ensure that construction work is completed according to the project’s planned sequence and schedule while implementing and enforcing safety and quality control procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
- Provide direction to and resolve problems amongst numerous subcontractors and vendors
- Ability to identify deficient work and provide resolution
- Attend kick-off meetings and work with PM/PE to develop site logistics plan
- Perform a daily QA/QC inspection
- Keep a clean and sage work site at all times
- Complete a weekly Safety Audit through Procore at a minimum of (1x) per week, or as needs change based on weather changes, scope changes, or other hazards that may present themselves throughout the natural course of construction
- Create a Look Ahead Schedule using MS Project that reflects critical activities over the course of the upcoming weeks and correlates with the overall master schedule and all milestones
- Take progress photos within the Photo module in Procore
- Create and manage Observations throughout all phases of the project as they relate to quality, safety, pre-punch, and deficiencies in work
- Create and distribute a Weekly Owner Report by 5 pm every Friday evening except when work is occurring over weekend
- Attend pre-closeout to develop a strategy to complete the punch list within thirty days
- Attend the closeout meeting to turn over all project files and discuss what did/did not go well on the project
Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant experience with focus in commercial, industrial and multifamily projects
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and construction documents
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite – Outlook, Office, Excel; scheduling software & Procore experience preferred
- Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures
- OSHA-30 certification

Physical Requirements
- Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds at times.
