Key Responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Lead and perform all types of land surveys, including but not limited to: construction staking, as-builts, ALTA/NSPS surveys, topographic, boundary, subdivision, and NCDOT location surveys.
- Supervise and motivate the survey crew to ensure work is completed accurately, safely, and efficiently.
- Perform survey computations and assist with data collection.
- Train and mentor junior survey technicians in equipment use, field procedures, and safety protocols.
- Maintain a high standard of accuracy and productivity in all survey work.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and clients.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of all survey equipment.
- Provide support in technical field tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of survey experience.
- NC Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred.
- Proficient with GPS, RTK, VRS, and robotic total station equipment.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is a strong plus.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and maps.
- Skilled in making accurate field calculations and job planning.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Physically able to walk rough terrain, stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform field work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to travel as needed, including overnight stays
