Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties as needed to maintain a clean, attractive, and operational county facility. Works under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. SALARY: $25.08 - $35.11/hourly see below (full job description attached)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from high school plus specialized training in HVAC, carpentry, electrical or plumbing trades; AND
- Five (5) years experience performing general maintenance duties; facilities maintenance, custodial work, or related duties; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintains facility climatization equipment (HVAC); perform routine maintenance such as changing belts, repairing fans and blowers, apprises managers of more extensive need and may coordinate vendor repair visits. Maintain and repair locks, other security equipment and generators.
- Performs a variety of repair tasks involving electrical outlets and devices, plumbing, cement and paint work as required; cleans maintains and stores equipment.
- Have knowledge of access control system.
- Sweeps and mops floors; vacuums and shampoos carpets; waxes floors and operates buffing machine.
- Washes windows and polishes furniture; dusts woodwork, furniture, and other articles; cleans drinking fountains. Gathers and disposes of refuse; cleans office waste receptacles; maintains and orders supplies and equipment.
- Sweeps and maintains outside walks and steps; cleans and sanitizes restroom sinks and bowls; supplies restrooms as needed; replaces burned out bulbs; secures building by insuring doors and windows are properly locked.
- General repair of trucks, mowers, snow blowers etc.
- Performs general landscape maintenance and environs beautification; mows and edges grass; plants and maintains flower beds year round; maintains trees and shrubs; applies fertilizer and weed control; maintains sprinkling system and bubblers in proper working condition; performs winter snow removal.
- Work with vendors, professional and technical, schedule any needed repairs.
- Operate heavy equipment as needed.
- Must be willing to be on-call, work holidays, weekends, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
