What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intervention Specialist position at Summit County Educational Service Center?
Qualifications:
Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist Licensure
Knowledge and training in working with students with emotional, social, behavioral, and mental health needs preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains appropriate and timely communication with students, parents, district personnel, and other partner agencies
Collaborate with appropriate grade level teachers and building personnel to facilitate inclusion opportunities, maintain pacing of academic instruction, and building wide activities
Responsible for case managing students with disabilities which includes writing IEPs, data collection, and progress monitoring
Establish and maintain a structured learning environment with student behavior management, academic instruction, and scheduling; includes planning delivery of engaging and academic activities
Work in collaboration with any and all personnel assigned to the classroom and students to support the academic, mental health and social emotional needs
Knowledge of IEP/ETR requirements and how to write a compliant IEP
Passion for working with students with disabilities and students with academic and behavioral needs
Ability to provide verbal de-escalation or physical restraint if necessary (restraint certification training will be provided)
