Job Purpose:
A Lower Elementary Physical Education Teacher at Summit Christian Academy is responsible for providing a nurturing and faith-based environment that promotes physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, and healthy habits for students in grades K-3. The teacher will encourage students to grow physically, socially, and spiritually while fostering a love for movement and honoring God through wellness and sportsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging physical education lessons that align with the Christian values and educational standards of Summit Christian Academy.
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment that encourages students to grow physically, socially, and spiritually.
- Teach age-appropriate skills including coordination, movement, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle habits.
- Utilize a variety of activities, games, and instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Assess and monitor student progress in physical development and participation, providing encouragement and support for continued growth.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and the wider school community to support the holistic development of students.
- Participate in school events, activities, and professional development opportunities to further the mission and vision of Summit Christian Academy.
- Uphold and model Christian principles in all interactions with students, staff, and the community.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
Required Experience:
- Proven experience teaching at the elementary level, preferably within a K-6 setting
- Experience working in a Christian school environment or a similar faith-based educational setting
- Demonstrated ability to foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports students' academic and spiritual growth

- Strong understanding of child development and elementary education best practices
