Job Summary:
Summit Christian Academy is seeking a highly qualified and spiritually grounded History Teacher (emphasis in Government) with a master’s degree in history (potential to teach dual credit courses) or an advanced degree in the social sciences to teach at the high school level. We are looking for someone who brings both academic expertise and a biblical worldview to the classroom, engaging students in meaningful historical inquiry and a deeper understanding of God’s work throughout history. The ideal candidate will be excited to mentor students in both their intellectual development and their faith journeys, and contribute positively to school culture through collaboration and participation in school events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the educational needs of students in grades 7-12, ensuring alignment with the school's Christian values and academic standards.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Master's degree in History or an advanced degree in a related social science field strongly preferred.
Required Experience:
- Experience teaching at a secondary school level, preferably within grades 7-12
- Previous experience working in a faith-based educational environment is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to integrate Christian values into teaching and curriculum
