Summit Christian Academy is seeking a skilled, dependable, and mission-driven Event and Production Technician to support the audio needs of school events, chapel services, fine arts performances, athletic events, and special programs. Key Responsibilities
Event Audio Production
Setup, operate, and tear down audio equipment for school events, including:
Microphones (wired and wireless)
Stage monitors and in-ear systems
Mixing consoles (digital)
Speakers, amplifiers, and cabling
Run live sound during:
Chapel services
Concerts and musicals
School assemblies
Athletic events
Special community events
Perform sound checks and troubleshoot technical issues quickly and efficiently.
Equipment Management
Maintain and organize all audio equipment and storage areas.
Ensure proper cable management, labeling, and system readiness.
Identify equipment needs and communicate recommendations to the Director of Technology.
Assist in maintaining inventory and preventative maintenance schedules.
Student Mentorship & Training
Train and mentor middle and high school students interested in sound and live production.
Model professionalism, responsibility, and servant leadership.
Create opportunities for students to learn hands-on technical skills in a safe and encouraging environment.
Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and Christ-centered service within student tech teams.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
Experience operating live sound systems in church, school, or performance environments.
Familiarity with:
Digital mixing consoles
Wireless microphone systems
Monitor mixing
Basic troubleshooting of audio signal flow
Strong understanding of gain structure, EQ, feedback management, and live mixing techniques.
Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs).
