What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Administrator position at Summit Chiropractic and Physical Therapy?
Office Administrator / Patient Care Coordinator
Summit Chiropractic & Physical Therapy | Fairbanks, Alaska
We're looking for someone who makes the whole team better.
Summit Chiropractic & Physical Therapy is a busy, team-oriented healthcare practice where no two days are exactly alike. Our team works together to help patients get better, keep their treatment on track, and make sure the day runs smoothly.
We're looking for an organized, dependable, people-oriented individual who takes initiative, enjoys staying busy, and doesn't wait to be told what needs to be done.
You don't need to know chiropractic or physical therapy before you start. We can teach you the ins and outs of the job. What matters most is your attitude, your willingness to learn, your ability to communicate with people, and your desire to be part of a team.
What You'll Do
You'll be an important part of the day-to-day operations of our practice, working alongside our chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists, and support staff.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Patient coordination: Scheduling appointments, managing treatment plans, coordinating referrals, and helping patients stay on track with their care.
- Front desk operations: Answering multiple phone lines, greeting patients, and helping keep patient flow moving throughout the day.
- Insurance and authorizations: Reviewing treatment authorizations, collecting copays, and assisting with VA-related patient care and documentation.
- Communication and organization: Managing incoming and outgoing faxes, emails, and other administrative tasks.
- Team support: Anticipating what needs to be done, helping coworkers when things get busy, and pitching in wherever you're needed to keep the office running smoothly.
The Person We're Looking For
We're not necessarily looking for someone who has done this exact job before. We're looking for someone with the right mindset.
You might be a great fit if you:
- Enjoy working with people and making them feel welcome.
- Can juggle multiple tasks without losing track of the details.
- Stay calm, professional, and friendly when the phones are ringing and the office is busy.
- Take ownership of your responsibilities and follow through on what you start.
- Are comfortable asking questions, learning new systems, and accepting feedback.
- Work well with different personalities and understand that a strong team depends on everyone doing their part.
- Are willing to help with the less glamorous tasks, too — because everyone pitches in.
- Want a long-term position where you can build your skills and become a valuable part of the team.
Previous healthcare or administrative experience is a plus, but a great attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn matter more than knowing everything on day one.
Why Summit?
You'll be joining a multidisciplinary practice where chiropractic, physical therapy, and massage therapy work together under one roof. You'll have the opportunity to learn new skills, take on responsibility, and make a meaningful contribution to both the patient experience and the success of the team.
This is a position for someone who wants to be more than a name on the schedule. We want someone who takes pride in their work, cares about the people they interact with, and wants to grow with us over the long term.
If you're someone who sees what needs to be done, enjoys helping people, and takes pride in being the person others can count on, we'd love to hear from you.
