Position Overview
The IT Support Intern provides front-line technical support to staff and departments across the Summit. This role is primarily focused on end-user support helping staff connect to printers and networks, troubleshooting software, and resolve everyday computer issues. You will help support A/V equipment setup and operation for camp events, trainings, and programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end-user technical support to staff, including troubleshooting desktop, laptop, and mobile device issues
- Connect and configure printers and other peripherals for staff offices and program areas
- Assist staff with downloading, installing, and configuring software and applications
- Diagnosing and resolve hardware and software issues, escalating more complex problems as needed
- Set up, test, and operate A/V equipment (sound systems, projectors, microphones, screens)
- Support network connectivity troubleshooting (Wi-Fi, wired connections) across camp facilities
- Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
- Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
- Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
- Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18
- Comfortable working with computers, common software, and basic troubleshooting
- Prior experience in ITsupport, A/V, or a related field is a plus but not required
- Proficient communications skills to describe variable technical knowledge to common English
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and around camp events
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
PhysicalPractical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 10 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
- Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55
