Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role located in Aurora, CO for a Hairstyling Instructor at Summit Barber Academy. The Hairstyling Instructor will be responsible for teaching and instructing students in the art of hairstyle, including washing, conditioning, hair cutting, drying, styling, color (including vivids), highlights, balayage, perms ,chemical relaxers and men's grooming techniques. The hairstyle Instructor will provide individualized guidance and assess student progress. They will also oversee practical training sessions and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards. The hairstyle Instructor will demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, and a passion for teaching.
Qualifications
- Valid state barbering, cosmetology or hairstyle license
- Extensive experience in the field of hairstyle
- Exceptional knowledge of hairstyling techniques, tools, and products
- Ability to create and deliver engaging instructional materials; online platform utilized for student content and lesson plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with diverse student populations.
- Prior teaching or training experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform hands-on demonstrations
- Builds positive relationships with students, staff, and clients
- Educate students on professional product usage and recommendations
- Train students on retail techniques and client education for at-home care
- Stay current on industry products, tools, and trends
- Support social media training
