Position Description
Summit Athletic Club is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Full Time Senior Accountant to help facilitate general accounting operations, ensure accuracy of financial records, and
support financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work alongside
the Controller while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Starting rate of $25 a hour with room to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-cycle general ledger accounting
- Assist in preparation of monthly and yearly accrual and reversing journal entries
- Aid in the preparation of monthly and yearly financial statements for multiple departments and entities
- Manage monthly inventory reconciliations and adjustments
- Manage bank account and credit card reconciliations
- Review of expense reports and account for them properly in QuickBooks Online
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions
- Maintain amortization schedules for prepaid expenses
- Maintain amortization schedules for deferred income
- Collaborate with other departments on budgeting and forecasting processes
- Preparation of semi-monthly payroll
- Respond to tax filing requests from CPA Firm
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online accounting software
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding company financials
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience with process improvements or system implementations
