The Summit YMCA, a branch of the Summit Area YMCA (SAY), is seeking energetic and passionate Swim Instructors to join our aquatics team. The Swim Instructor provides direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for participants in swim lessons. Instructors follow YMCA Swim Lesson guidelines and ensure a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for all.

Salary range for this role is $17.00- $20/hour, based on experience. This Part Time position is scheduled to work up to 25 hours per week. Schedule & Availability Requirements
Swim Instructors are required to work a minimum of two weekday shifts and one weekend shift
Typical lesson times include: Weekdays: 4:00 PM – 6:45 PM, Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM, and Sundays: 3:00 PM – 6:20 PM

- Maintain active supervision of all participants and respond quickly when assistance is needed
- Build strong relationships with members, participants, and families
- Share information about aquatics programs and encourage participation
- Track attendance and swimmer progress as required
- Attend staff meetings and complete required trainings
- Follow all YMCA policies and safety procedures, including incident reporting
- Set up and put away equipment; report any maintenance or safety concerns
- Support and guide class aides as needed

Requirements
- Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
- Must obtain YMCA Swim Instructor certification within 1st year of employment.
- Ability to obtain Certifications in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification and Emergency Oxygen within 1st year of employment.
- At least 15 years of age.
