Job Duties: Performs work assignments as determined by the shop management which includes receiving inspection, teardown, cleaning, inspection, parts requisition, assembly, testing and troubleshooting. Ensure that all work is conducted in accordance with approved technical data, customer specifications and regulatory requirements. Uses appropriate inspection techniques, and calibrated equipment for the harness being accomplished and utilizes the proper test equipment. Records information and accomplishes the work assignment in compliance with the Inspection Procedures Manual and Operations and Quality Policies & Procedures. Read schematics and manuals to perform task and complete repairs. The preservation of all units or parts while in the repair process. Interact with other related disciplines within the facility to develop, evaluate, and improve repair processes. Ability to use all required Electrical testing equipment. such as/not limited to: Milli Ohmmeter, Insulation/Dielectric Tester. Capacitance Tester. Ohm-Meter. Retention Tester. To assure that all tools and equipment are in good work conditions and calibrated before use. Keeps work place safe, clean and organized. Follow work instructions for prioritized incoming and ongoing work. Use time management skill to complete task in a prompt manner. Work to established Lean guidelines involving one-piece flow, standard work and 6S. Read and understand procedures and repair steps stated in CMM/TO and Standard Practices. Ability to visually inspect harness. Identifying areas of damage. Properly clean harness exterior and internally of a connector without damaging the EMI. Physically identifying damages not visible such as non-ratcheting connector. Electrically identifying faults. Electrical shorts, failed insulation, High Resistance. Ability to remove a heat shrinks and boots. Ability to remove a connector. Knowing which adapters to use. Removing a backshell from a Connector. Ability to extract/insert contacts from Connectors. Ability to install heatshrink, boots, metal braid and sheath. Ability to torque a backshells per spec to its connector. Know how to use a band clamp tool and which clamp size to use. Understanding drawings and angle/degrees to make sure proper connector Key Rotation is performed. Properly Strip insulation without damaging conductors. Know how to use Crimper for conductor/contact sizes ranging from 26 through 04. Ability to solder/de-solder.Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on aircraft systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose aircraft malfunctions using various tools and equipment.
- Repair or replace faulty components or parts as necessary.
- Conduct tests and inspections to ensure aircraft safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed work orders.
- Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Follow all safety protocols and adhere to industry regulations.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems in aircraft.
- Proficient in using various tools and equipment, including calipers, power tools, and hand tools.
- Familiarity with machining processes for aircraft parts is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and clients.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work on-call or overtime hours when necessary.
