Summary/Objective
The Federal Instructional Paraprofessional works as a teacher’s aide, assisting with lesson delivery, managing materials, supporting behavior management, and tutoring individuals or groups of children

Essential Functions
• Under the supervision of a properly licensed teacher, the Paraprofessional will implement and evaluate lessons planned by that teacher.
• Tutor individual students as needed.
• Teach social skills/social thinking and model appropriate behaviors for students.
• Report dangerous behaviors/environments to school director or administration.
• Report any suspicion of child abuse and neglect through proper channels.
• Provide instructor with input regarding student behavior, academic performance and IEP progress.
• Proctor during student assessment.
• Participate in appropriate staff development activities to provide for professional growth.

This position will perform work during what is recognized as normal operating hours.

Travel
Minimal; 0-5%

Required Education/Experience
• Ohio Educational Aide permit with the ESEA qualified endorsement (or have the requirements necessary to obtain one)
• Two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 semester or 72 quarter hours), an associate degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher education, or passing the ParaPro Assessment
• Appropriate criminal records check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and Federal Bureau of Investigation
