The SummerWinds Associate uses their business, leadership and people skills to inspire exceptional store performance. This includes maximizing sales, profits and our customers’ experiences. Furthermore, the associate is accountable for error-free cash register operations, payment processing, and interactions with customers, including answering customer questions with regard to plant products and merchandise within the store.

Specific Duties:

A SummerWinds associate offers outstanding customer service and goes out of their way to make sure that everyone who enters our store feels welcome. The Associate can expect to:

• Utilize Point of Sale (POS) system to accurately enter customer purchases/sales & payments
• Understand SummerWinds Customer Loyalty Program and promote/educate all customers who come through your checkout line
• Answer multi-line phone cheerfully
• Answer customers' questions, and provide information on procedures, policies and products
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers
• Process merchandise returns and exchanges
• Resolve customer complaints
• Calculate total payments received during a time period, and reconcile this with total sales
• Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas
• General purpose nursery worker
• Customer carryout
• Stocking of all material
• Outstanding customer service
• Watering, general care of green material
• Overall store & parking lot upkeep
• Assist with other projects as needed

• Must have some plant knowledge
• Must be able to work independently
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to start and complete tasks with little supervision
• Flexibility in accepting a variety of tasks and projects
• Must have previous experience with a POS system

Physical Requirements:

SummerWinds associates are:

• Able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds without assistance
• Able to stand, sit and/or walk for long periods of time/all day

Environment / Other:

SummerWinds associates:

• Work both outdoors and indoors
• Participate in additional projects, when needed
• Maintain a professional appearance
• Use Company equipment (e.g. computers) for business purposes only
