Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Facilities Management Coordinator at our facility, you will have the opportunity to be both an expert in your field and a caregiver, providing important services for our patients and staff. Every role has an impact on our patients’ lives and you have the opportunity to make a difference. You will join an impressive team that prides themselves on keeping our hospital functioning safely.

• Works with the Director, Facilities Management to coordinate, plan, organize and control the day-to-day activities of the SMC Engineering department to provide service, repairs and maintenance necessary to ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the hospital and its ancillary buildings.
• Assist with Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM), Infection Control risk Assessment (ICRA), utility shutdown requests and work permits.
• Be familiar with, and provide guidance to maintenance staff on codes and regulatory requirements.
• Maintains a comfortable, clean environment for patients, colleagues, medical staff and the public per policies, procedures and standards of HCA, TJC, DPH, CMS and other local, state and federal agencies having jurisdiction.
• Provides direct oversight and coordination of third party contractors and vendors, as needed.
• Creates, manages, maintains and monitors work order and preventive maintenance activities; and asset management in Engineering Central.
• Provides administrative support for the Engineering department, including but not limited to, assisting vendors, ordering office supplies, maintaining department files, and preparation of documents.
• Performs a variety of duties to purchase materials, equipment, and services according to hospital guidelines for cost, quality and delivery.
• Ensures that hospital value analysis and contract compliance principles are followed in connection with purchases of materials and services.
• Maintains accurate records of work and repairs.
