What are the responsibilities and job description for the Install Apprentice position at Summers Plumbing Heating & Cooling of Franklin?
Key Responsibilities
• Assist lead installers with the installation of residential heating and cooling systems (furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, and related equipment)
• Help unload materials, stage equipment, and prepare job sites
• Perform basic tasks such as cutting, fitting, and securing ductwork; assisting with electrical connections; and supporting system start-up under supervision
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area on every job
• Follow all safety procedures and company standards
• Communicate effectively with team members and help ensure jobs stay on schedule
• Learn proper installation techniques, tools, and best practices through on-the-job training
• Occasionally assist with light service or maintenance tasks as needed
Requirements
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in attics, crawl spaces, and varying weather conditions
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn
• Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in the trades (prior HVAC, construction, or mechanical experience is a plus but not required)
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a small team
• Willingness to work occasional overtime or weekends when needed during busy seasons
